Lide was born in a log house near Stillwater, Ohio. While on an extended visit to her brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Albert B. and Angie Conwell, who lived in Kansas, she met and later married Wm. "Billy" Edwards as his second wife. She and Billy lived in Kansas their entire married lives. She was the last of her siblings to die.
