1911 Lexington City Directory: resides at 440 W. Third St., wit h Evelyn V., James S., John B. (farmer), and Wm. D. (lawyer).

Date of birth and death, and names of parents from KY death cert ificate, vol. 17, certif. 6603. Death certificate gives date o f death as 3/11/1912, and a age of death as 64 y, 1 m, 17 d, an d birth date of Jan 23, 184? (looks like 1849, but age at deat h would indicate 1848). G&BS, pp. 65, 67.

No issue mentioned in G&BS. Buried in Lexington Cemetery. Childr en inferred from persons buried in same lot of Lexington Cemeter y, Section D, Lot 6, Part S?: William D., Elizabeth M., Evelyn , Fanny C., unnamed infant, James, and John VanMeter Nicholas . [Assume the reason Uncle Ben left out the children was becau se of the hooting of Owen Bradley by William D. Nicholas, Jr. o n April 19, 1901. Uncle Ben published his genealogy in 1901, bu t he had to have known of the altercation because he included th e Kentucky Derby win of His Eminence which occurred on April 29 , 1901.]
