PANHANDLE - Martha Phenix, 84, died Friday, Jan. 20, 1989 in Lubbock.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve D. Vernon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by George C. Price Funeral Directors in Levelland.
Mrs. Phenix was born in Indian territory at Oklahoma. She married James W. Phenix in 1922. He died in 1971. She moved to Lubbock in 1988 from Morton. She retired from the Panhandle Independent School District as a cafeteria employee.
Survivors include a son, Tracy J. Phenix of Panhandle; two daughters, Maxine Gentle of Pecos and Jean Goldbach of Englewood, Colo.; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
