Wetumpka Herald, 1 May 1962 - James William Champion, aged 72 was found by members of the family after life had slipped away while sleeping in the home Sat., 28 Apr. He has been in ill health for some time. The funeral was held Mon., at 3:30 pm at the Eclectic Baptist Church with burial in the local cemetery. Survivors include the widow; 8 sons: Ernest, Eddie L. & Hurbert-Alexander City, Leonard & Leon-Eclectic, Burley-Langdale, Marlin-Pell City & Emmitt Champion-Burnell, FL; dau: Mrs. Jean Bridgman-Eclectic. 21 gch & one great-gch; 3 brothers & 3 sisters.
