Elfrieda A. Schmitz, 88, formerly of St. Peter, passed away at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home on Monday, November 16, 2009.
Elfrieda was born in Calvary on November 6, 1921, a daughter of Edward Sabel and Elizabeth Schaefer Sabel.
On October 13, 1951 she married Clarence H. Schmitz at Holy Cross Church in Mt. Calvary, WI.
She is survived by two sisters, Bernetta Schmitz of Fond du Lac and Julitta Bertram of St. Peter; special friend, Harold Huberty of Fond du Lac; brothers-in-law, Orlando (Marge) Schmitz, Jerome (Joan) Schmitz and Gerald (Bernice) Schmitz, all of St. Peter, Elmer (Julitta) Schmitz and sister-in-law, Lillian Schmitz, all of Fond du Lac; nephew, Lee (Jeanne) Sabel of St. Peter, who were her special caregivers over the past years; Preceding her in death are her parents; Clarence, her husband for 40 years, brother, Leander (Germaine) Sabel Sr., brothers-in-law, Clarence J. Schmitz, Henry Bertram and Louis Schmitz.
Entombment in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
