He married Mary VanNorman on October 22, 1896 in New Lyme, Ashtabula, Ohio. She was the daughter of James VanNorman and Margaret G Shipman. Their children were Cassius C., Arthur H., Florence "Flossie" F., Howard S., and Hubert R.

Harry J. Armstrong, 67, Greene township, died early today at the residence from complications following a long illness. He had been in failing health for the last four years.
Mr. Armstrong was born in Holmes county, Feb. 21, 1870, the son of John and Martha Armstrong, and had resided in Trumbull county for a great many years. He was a farmer by occupation.
The body was removed to the Love funeral home at Cortland where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. George VanWingerden officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Litzel and Rev. Riggs. The burial will be made in Greenlawn cemetery at Greene.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; five children, Cassius and Arthur of Champion, Florence of Girard, Howard of Greene township and Hubert at home; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Louisa Dyson, Latimer; one brother, William Armstrong, Orwell.

Funeral services for Harry J. Armstrong, Greene Township, were conducted at the Love funeral home at Cortland at 2 p.m. Monday with burial in Greenlawn cemetery, Greene.
Rev. George VanWingerden had charge of the services and was assisted by Rev. Louise Litzel and Rev. D.D. Palmer. Music was furnished by Mrs. Charles Webb.
Pallbearers were: Bert Hill, Charles Cauffield, James McAninch, Robert Armstrong, John Armstrong and J.W. Barbe.
