Joseph I. Aliff. 56. Scarbro. died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at his home after a long illness. Born at Cabell (now Ridgeviews) Brush Creek, Boone County, Aug. 13.1905.

He was a son of the late Joseph and Josephine Estep Aliff.

He was a retired employe of The New River Co. at Whipple.

Surviving are his wife. Mrs. Myrtle Aliff, Scarbro: a son. Jack A., Lewisburg. Pa.: two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Bowles. Adrian, Mich., and Mrs. Patricia Shrewsbury, Scarbro: three brothers. Earl and Ellett, both of Marmet. and George, Charleston; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Walker. Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. Verna Sampson, Rand, and Mrs. Sarah Hutchinson, Prenter; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with the Rev. William Johnson in charge.

Burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery at Hilltop. The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after 4 p.m. today.
