John Arterberry, 68, of R1, passed away 10-21-1938, 12:30 am at his home, Ada, Oklahoma. Services were held Friday afternoon at 2 pm from the home. Rev. Shipman officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Criswell Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr Arterberry is survived by 7 daughters, Mrs Tonnie Tatum of Ada, Miss Rosie Arterberry of Tulsa, Mrs Stella Smith of Lawrence, Miss (Evie) Eva Arterberry , Mrs Zonie Honeycutt, Tennie Arterberry, Mrs Myrtle Whitson, Ada, a son, Earl Arterberry of Tulsa. Mr Arterberry was born March 29, 1870, in Illinois, the son of Bennett & Caroline Hudson Arterberry. He married Nannie E Mayo, 8-23-1899, Chicksasw Nation.
NOTE: Tommie (not Tonnie) Tatum was actually his step-daughter, being the daughter from his wife's first marriage.
