Kempsie L. Shepherd, 69, of Lima, W.Va., died Feb. 4, 1992 in the Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville.
She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late Donzel and June Mallot Hornbeck. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Faber Shepherd; four sons, Curtis Shepherd of Lima, W.Va., William and David Shepherd, both of New Martinsville, and Lloyd Shepherd of Alma; four daughters, Mrs. Larry (Janice) Spencer of Glen Easton, W.Va.; Mrs. Ron (Nora) O'Neil of New Martisnville, Mrs. David (Connie) Griffin of Cottondale, Ala., Mrs. Steve (Darlene) Beaver of Sistersville; two brothers, Kenneth Hornbeck of New Martinsville and Haynes Hornbeck of Hamilton, Ind.; one sister, Alba Troiano of Palatka, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Rex Shepherd in 1963.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Furbee Funeral Home, Alma, with the Rev. William Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwood Cemetery, Alma.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday.
