Garnett Bentley Barnett aka Ben was born on 30 Sep 1920 in Willacy Co., TX to William Lingren Barnett and Thelma Roxie Jordan. Ben married Selma Anna Schultz at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Willacy Co., TX on 16 Jan 1941.

Together they had 3 children. Patricia Ann, Bill and Selma.

Attended school at LaFeria High TX, didn't graduate.
Played a trombone, in a bad auto accident on a band trip.
Helped on the farm, sharecropping.
Member of the CCC
Joined U.S. Navy during WWII, medical discharge due to complications from previous accident.
Employed as aircraft mechanic at Harlingen Air Force Base during WWII.
Mechanic by trade.
Worked offshore oil rigs.

He resided in Gwinnett Co., GA with one of his daughters but was in Texas when he passed away at Houston Northwest Medical Center in Houston TX of a heart attack.
