HOULKA – Bennon Howard Earp, 73, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston.
He was born July 2, 1936, in Chickasaw County to John Sydney Earp and Clara Ward Earp. He was the owner of Earp Farms for 40 years and a former employee of Houlka LP Gas.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Bean officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Logan Earp of Houlka; a daughter, Linda Harmon (Mike) of Houlka; two sons, Jamie Earp (Joy) and Ricky Earp (Diana), all of Houlka; eight grandchildren, Karen Winstead, Andrea Adams (Brian), Derek Earp (Danielle), Dex Earp, Mallory Murphree (Justin), Timothy Smith, Sydney Earp and Morgan Earp; seven great-grandchildren, Logan Winstead, Andrew Winstead, Greg Earp, Cambry Earp, Caden Earp, Emma Earp, Blake Heair; three sisters, Rose Margaret Burgess (Billy) of Lucedale, Martha "Boots" Mooneyham (Ottis) of Houston, Ann Bean (Eddie) of Waynesboro; and three brothers, Tom Earp (Sharon) of Greenwood, John Sidney "Hick" Earp (Carolyn) of Houston and Jim Earp (Lisa) of Wren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beatrice Moss.
Pallbearers will be Derek Earp, Dex Earp, Justin Murphree, Brian Adams, Timothy Smith and Nick Earp.
