OKOLONA Clara Ward Earp, 89, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at the Sherrer-Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona. She was born May 4, 1909, in Chickasaw County to Benjamin and Mary Guest Ward. She was a homemaker and a member of Houston Church of God. She was the widow of John Sidney Earp Sr.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston with Bro. Eddie Bean and Bro. Chris Sowell officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Houston.

Survivors include four daughters, Rose Margaret Burgess and her husband, Bill, of Lucedale, Martha "Boots" Mooneyham and her husband, Otis, of Houston, Beatrice Moss and her husband, Carrell Jr., of Houlka, and Ann Bean and her husband, Bro. Eddie Bean, of Waynesboro; four sons, Howard Earp and his wife, Evelyn, of Houlka, Thomas Earp of Greenwood, John S. "Hick" Earp and his wife, Carolyn, of Houston, and Jimmy R. Earp of Houston; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Sid Ward of Woodland; one sister-in-law, Jessie Ward of Hamilton.
