SAUK CITY--Verlin F. "Red" Walworth, age 76, died on Thursday, September 13, 1990 at home after a long illness. He was born on April 4, 1914 in Washington Township, Iowa. He was the son of the late Burt and May (Hain) Walworth. He married Ada E. Bollig on May 21, 1945 in Windsor, Wisconsin. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. After the war, he received his G.I. Bill and went to agricultural school. He farmed for many years, retiring in 1977. He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Ada; two sons and their wives; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lucille Linderman, Joy Meents, Thelma Brasel, all three residing out of state; and many other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 17, 1990 at 1:30 p.m. at the GRUBER-ELLESTAD-VAN DEVENTER FUNERAL HOME in Prairie du Sac with Pastor David Hein officiating. Burial will follow at the OAK HILL CEMETERY in North Freedom. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday, September 16, 1990 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
