Mrs. McMahon, the former Evelyn Walworth, was born March 19, 1906, in Lincoln, Neb. She moved as a child with her family to Crawford County and made her home on a farm near Buck Grove. She received her education in rural schools and Denison public schools. She was employed at McMahon Store for many years and later operated Evelyn's Cafe in Denison. She married John McMahon in Denison. They made their home in Des Moines where they operated a grocery store for 10 years. They returned to Denison where she was employed at J.C. Penney Co. until her retirement. He died in 1974.
Survivors include one brother, Verlin of Sauk City, Wis., and three sisters, Mrs. Joye Meents of Omaha, Mrs. Earl (Thelma) Brasel of Dunlap and Mrs. Bernard (Lucille) Linderman of Dow City.
