Mrs. House, 87, Buried at Bethel

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Josephine Arndt House, 87, who resided on Houston, route 1, and who died at 8:30 pm, Friday, December 6, at the Houston Hospital, were conducted from the Bethel Baptist Church at 2 pm, Sunday.

The Rev. Ed Campbell officiated. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were: Elkin House, Eugene House, Charles D House, Casper A Arndt, Joey East and Bill Reece.

Mrs. House was a native of Clay County, but had spent most of her life in Chickasaw County. She was born October 2 1881, the daughter of Francis Casper Arndt and Margaret Elizabeth McGraw Arndt. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

She was the widow of the late Charlie House of Houston.

Mrs. House leaves five sons, Roy House of Houston, and J C, Freddie, Quitman, and Robert House, all of New Orleans; three stepsons, Benton House of Houston, Jeff House of Lake City, Ark., and Elijah House of Sardis; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Rae Russo of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Jessie Mae East of Houston; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kareda Arndt of Houston, and Mrs. Lorene Fogelberg of New Orleans, and a brother, Fred Arndt of Houston. Thirty nine grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren also survive. Two sons, Hubert and Shelby House, are deceased.
