WINNETT-Cosby E. "Coty" Meserve, 80, died Sunday evening July 26, 1992, in the Central Montana Medical Center after a long illness.
Coty was born July 18, 1912, in Windham, Mont., a son of Henry and Jennie Meserve. He attended Windhan School and on July 17, 1933, he married Dorothy Jackson in Lewistown.
He was a rancher all of his life. In his younger years, he used to rope in the local rodeos. He was quite a horseman and he broke several roping horses for various people. Coty still owned his ranch on the Musselshell River at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Dot); a son Bill Meserve of Winnett; a sister, Myrtle Richardson of Renten City, Wash.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren. He was preseced in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Services will be held in the Winnett High School old gymnasium at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, with Pastor Linda Fritz officiating. Burial will be in Winnett Cemetery with Creel-Morrison-Retz Funeral Home in Charge.
