Zoe and Augustus both met in what was called French Prairie. Both fathers were French Canadians and both their parents had contracted marriages according to the times, blanket marriages with native girls of different nations from that corner of the county. When the Catholic priest came into the area there was a lot of marrying, burying and baptizing. The Quintal name and Delore name mention often in the Old Catholic books. The name Quintal was often spelled Cantrell or Chantell.

The marriage record of Quinn and Zoe is found in the Old Catholic Records. In St Louis, Oregon, it states; Augustin Dellart and Zoe Quintal, August 15th, 1857. Augustin legal son of Joseph Dellart and Lisette, deceased native women, and Zoe Quintal, daughter of Laurent Quintal and Marie Ann Nispissing, living in the Umpqua country. Witnesses Joseph Dellart, Louis Quintal, Louis Vandale.

Between the Catholic records and the Oregon census I would say Zoe had as many as eight children; Mary Ann b) 1858, Agnes b)1861, Josephine b)1863, Mary Zoe b) 1867, Augustin Jr b) 1872, Lillie b) 1874, Esther b) 1875, and Alfred Frank b) 1879. Of these eight children I have found only 3 made it to adulthood and left descendants. Times were tough and Quinn seems to move every time the area started to get neighbors. He would uproot the family and starting all over in another country side. From the Willamette Valley, to Wapintia and then on to Suplee. Augustus Jr built a house behind his for Zoe to live in after Quinn passed away. She died in 1905 and is buried next to her husband.
