Mrs. Menk was born in Tarentum a daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Cooke Appleby. She was a resident of New Kensington since 1912.
She was the widow of Sidney Menk who died May 29, 1941 and will be remembered as having a prominent insurance business here and as a Republican committeeman.
A member of Parnassus Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the women's association of the church, member of Citizens Hospital auxiliary and an active member of the Republican women's club.
She is survived by three sons, Robert, Rev. Sidney, and Donald. Two daughters Mildred Menk, and Ruth House. Two sisters Mabel Hess, and Helen Waltenbaugh. Two brothers Clarence and James Appleby. 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
