Lower Burrell
Robert H. Menk, 92, of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, in Concordia at Ridgewood Place.
Born Sept. 23, 1913, in the Parnassus section of New Kensington to the late Sidney and Grace Appleby Menk, he lived in Lower Burrell for 49 years.
He attended Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh. Mr. Menk was a plant supervisor for the Aluminum Co. of America for 35 years and a salesman for the Fortune National Insurance Co. for 11 years.
He was a member of Grace Community Presbyterian Church and Hillcrest Country Club, both in Lower Burrell. His hobbies were golfing, gardening and his grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Robert G. (Joyce) Menk of Vinton, Va.; two daughters, Marcia Menk of Penn Hills, and Melanie (Robert) Finlay of Plum; a brother, Sidney Menk; and a sister, Susie (Joseph) House of North Carolina; grandchildren Carolyn, Zachary and Alexandra, and a great-grandchild, Nathaniel.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Lois Jean Maxwell Menk; a brother, Donald Menk; and a sister, Mildred Menk.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Grace Community Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Kenneth Foust. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
