Malinda Eldora Davis was born May 22nd, 1863 at the old homestead 3 miles northwest of Havensville and died at her home in Havensville, December 22nd, 1932 at the age of 69 years, 7 months.
She was married February 12, 1880 to John Thomas Poague and to this union was born 8 children, 6 boys and two girls. The oldest son, George Raymond passed away in 1903.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, J. T. Poague, her children: S. E. of Havensville; Jessie A Pepper of Abilene, T. J. of Fostoria, Laura A. Wells of Osborne, Jack of Salina; Mont of Cleburne; 25 grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
She united with the Christian church of Havensville in early life. She was a member of Marie Chapter No. 252 O. E. S. Havensville.
She was a devoted wife and mother. A mother in the fullest sense that the term implies. Funeral services were at the Christian church, Havensville, Saturday, December 24th. Rev. N. J. Adams, pastor of the M. E. Church and Rev. Sanders, pastor of the Christian church were in charge. The sons were pall bearers. Interment was in the Havensville cemetery beside her oldest son.
