Sherman Halterman
(November 28, 1934 - October 5, 2009)
U.S. Veteran Sherman Halterman, 74, of Jackson, passed away at his residence on Monday, October 5, 2009. He was born November 28, 1934, in Jackson County, Ohio, son of the late Carl "Duke" Halterman and Stella M. Yerian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Daisy (Boyd) Halterman, four brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by a sister, Betty Rasp, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and a good friend, May
Clarkson.
Mr. Halterman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in 1951 to 1953. He was a member of the Amvets and VFW of Jackson.
Friends may call at the Mayhew Funeral Home Weds., Oct. 7, from 4 – 8 p.m., where funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Jack Hughes officiating. Military graveside service by Disabled American Veterans, Jackson County Chapter 45. Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesbanco, Sherman Halterman account.
