Lydia was the daughter of Mary Mack and Abel Cheesman, a Revolutionary War soldier. She was the 10th of 12 children. She married Levi Muncil Cochran, who was also from Massachusetts. They had 4 children, all born in Ohio. They were Solomon, Cynthia Castle, Sophronia, and Elizabeth Smith. Levi was a traveling minister in the Midwest. He died on 31 Oct 1860 in Iowa.
