Avis Lillian Estep, 71, of Springdale, died Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born January 2, 1938 in Huntsville to John Riley and Veda Mable Fraze Ledbetter.

Mrs. Estep was devoted to the care of her family, and was also called "Mom", "Granny" and "G-Granny" by many friends and neighbors. She loved gardening, cooking, canning, going to church, nature and animals. She worked at Campbell's Soup for 10 years, and attended Saved By Grace Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, D.J. Holloway, in August, a granddaughter, Tonya Darlene, two brothers,four sisters, and former spouse, Allen Estep, Sr.

Survivors include four children, Veda Moser and husband Rogers of Rogers, Carolyn Whelchel, Arlin Estep and wife Denise, and Allen Estep, Jr. all of Springdale; a brother, Keith Ledbetter of Malaga, Washington; two sisters,Jane Hayes of Springdale, Nola Welch of Yakima, Washington; ten grandchildren, Michelle and husband Lee,Miranda, Kody, Micheal, Krissy and husband Shane, Wendy, Percella and husband Danny, LaShonda andhusband Shawn, Anna and Shasta; and 18 great-grandchildren, Austin, Alayna, Brooklyn, Lillian, Kayla, Michael,Joseph, Brandon, Christian, Dexter, Trenton, Ivy, Isaiah, Destiny, Jordan, Tanner, Alysha and Kelsey.

A graveside services will be 11 AM on Tuesday at Witter Cemetery in Madison County with Pastors Rick Copeland and Mike Montgomery officiating.

Bearers will be Arlin Estep, Allen Estep, Jr., Roger Moser, Johnny Faubus, Kody Holloway and Michael Whelchel.
