Joseph Eugene Richter
Joseph Eugene Richter passed away at Omak, Washington, on August 15, of cancer.
He was born at north Chester, Mont., Feb. 20, 1920, to George and Margaret (Schwan) Richter. He moved with his parents to Inverness where he attended school, graduating from Inverness High School. Later he worked in the shipyards at Bremerton, Wash., then enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his discharge he farmed, and later owned and operated a service station at Inverness.
He and Louise Shipman were married in 1950 and continued to live in Inverness until 1962 when he sold is interests and purchased an orchard at Omak, Wash.
Joe is survived by his wife, Louise, daughter, Janet, and son, Jeff, at home; sons Myron of Omak; twins, Walter and Wayne, U.S. Air Force; Clyde of Inverness, Mont.; daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Cheryl) Harrison of Okanagan, Wash. Also his mother, Margaret Richter of Inverness, Mont.; brothers, John of Havre, Mont.; Jake and Ray of Inverness; Eddie of Kalispell; Chris of Hingham, Mont.; and Frank of Joplin, Mont.; sisters, Mary Mader and Agnes Mader of Great Falls, Mont.; Lena Shore, Francy Fraser, and Virginia Adams of Inverness, Mont.
