LEWALLEN, ELIZABETH G. GRIFFITH died 20 Mar 2006

Elizabeth G. Lewallen, 85, of Oneida, passed away March 20, 2006, at her home. Born in Winfield, July 26, 1920, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ivory Webster and Cora Lee Boyer Griffith; her husband, Homer Lewallen; two sisters, Amy Smith and Lela Bilbrey; two brothers, Benny and Kenny Griffith, and five infant brothers and sisters. She was a member of First Baptist Church-Oneida, served as a history teacher in the Oneida Junior High School for 19 years, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by two daughters: Ann Daugherty of Oneida, and Rosemary Sprouse of Knoxville; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, Agnes West of Villa Hills, Ky.; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted March 22, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Doug White and Rev. Dale Smith officiating. Music was provided by First Baptist Church Choir. Graveside service was conducted March 23, at Hazel Valley Cemetery in Oneida. Jones & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. (Source: The Independent Herald, 30 Mar 2006, p12)
