Sherman Eugene Fielding, 34, of North River ... was killed late Wednesday night when the car in which he was a passenger collided head-on with another vehicle eight miles west of Truro. Six persons were taken to hospital as a result of the accident. Three other occupants of the car in which Fielding was an occupant, included the driver, David Betts, Truro, and passengers, Margaret Henderson, Bible Hill and Blanche Stewart are listed in "satisfactory" condition in Colchester hospital suffering from abrasions and fractures. ... Sherman Eugene Fielding was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Fielding, Bible Hill. Surviving besides his wife, the former Mary Fraser, Truro, are a son, James; a daughter, Judy, both at home; six sisters, Mrs. Rita Blair; Sheila (Mrs. Charles Wood), both of Brantford, Ont.; Hazel (Mrs. Percy Delaney); Marilyn (Mrs. James Waller); Barbara (Mrs. Gordon Atkerson), all of Truro; Julie (Mrs. Douglas Blackmore), Hamilton, Ont.; three brothers, Fred and Russell, both of Truro and Jack, Hamilton, Ont. The body is at the Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. J.A. MacKenzie officiating.
