Death of Mrs. Hiram Clark
Mrs. Sarah E., relict of the late Hiram Clock, died last night at the residence of her son, Mr. Henry L. Clock, at the advanced age of eighty-eight years.
The deceased was born in New York city in 1804 on the spot where H.B. Claflin & Co.’s store now stands, the adjacent property at that time being occupied as a pasture for her father’s cattle. She married Mr. Clock in 1823 and moved to Trumansburg that year, coming to Ithaca in 1852. Her husband died in 1877 aged 83 years. Mrs. Clock’s surviving children are Lyman Clock, of Binghamton, and Henry L. Clock of this city. A daughter, Mrs. Miles Clinton died in 1890.
The funeral services will occur at three o’clock to-morrow afternoon at the residence, NO. 17 West Buffalo street.
