Robert V. Riese, 58, 1883 Currier Road, Freeport, died Monday Dec. 20, 1993, at Freeport Memorial Hospital.

He worked for Allied Plastics in Rockford for many years, retiring in May 1991. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Born July 20, 1935, in Brodhead, Wis., he was the son of Wrennie and Anna (Vollman) Riese. On June 17, 1967, he married Linda Benell in Lanark.

Surviving are his wife, eight sons, Robert and Tom, both of Brodhead, David and Mike, both of West Virginia, Jay of Fond du Lac, Wis., James of Freeport, Brian of Madison, Wis., and Chad of Georgia; five brothers, Chester of Beloit, Wis., Elmer of San Jose, California, Forrest and Alvin, both of Monroe, Wis., and Roger of Janesville, Wis., three sisters, Alice Wolfe and Helen Rufer, both of Monroe, Mary Coplien of Freeport; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary with the Rev. Donald Swanson, chaplain at Freeport Memorial Hospital, officiating.

Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Walker Mortuary.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
