Everett D. Berry, son of John and Deborah Berry, was born July 31, 1868 near Woodsfield, Monroe county, Ohio; and passed away at his home on Jan. 28, 1955 at the age of 86 years 5 months and 28 days.
When he was 14 years old the family moved to Powersville, Mo., and in 1895 he came to a farm near Havensville, Kans. On December 21, 1898 he was married to Florence Strosnider.
After living on a farm near Avoca for five years they moved to the farm which has been their home for 51 years.
After 56 years of married life, he is survived by his wife, Florence, one son, Ira; two grandchildren, Roy of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., and Ruby of Topeka; and four great grandchildren, Jane Louise and Judith Ann Berry and Betty Lou and Larry Dean Gifford. Also out a family of nine, he leaves one brother, James Oatis, 84, of Chickasha, Okla., and one sister, Mrs. Viola Salisbury, of St. Mary's, Kan., and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Onaga at 2 o'clock Sunday with Rev. Marshall in charge. Burial at Havensville cemetery.
