He was born February 6, 1927 in Schultz Community, Pleasants County, WV, a son of the late Bud and Fern Moore Maston.
He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church, he served in the 71st Infantry in WW II and he was employed for over 33 years at the former American Cyanamid Plant.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by two sons, one daughter, of St. Marys, WV, 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, four sisters, and four brother.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Elizabeth Maston and one daughter, Sarah Dennis.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 11 A. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV.
Interment will be in the Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island, WV. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 P. M. Tuesday and from 10 until 11 A. M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of James "Buddy" Maston's late wife, Donna Maston, to the Alzheimer's Association, West Virginia Chapter, 1111 Lee Street, East, Charleston, WV.
