He was a good and hard-working man who loved his family. He was a tool pusher in the oilfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Nell Griffith and his brothers Denzy and Delvin Leatherwood and one grandchild.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his daughters Sheila Riddell of Burleson, Texas and Kristi Taylor of Ovid, Michigan; his son Doy Leatherwood, Jr. of Bryson, Texas; his sisters Eva Tabor, Sarah Turner and Linda Clower all of Jacksboro, Texas; his brothers H.D. "Sonny" Leatherwood of Springtown, Texas and Deward Leatherwood of Jacksboro and 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation on Saturday August 29, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas.
Services will be on Sunday August 30, 2009 at 2pm at the Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksboro, Texas. Bro. BJ Nunley will be officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Jack County, Texas.
