Deuard Leatherwood was born on February 9, 1937 to Samuel Jesse and Nadine Matilda (Nunley) Leatherwood in Jack County, Texas. He passed away on Monday December 13, 2010 in Graham, Texas. He was 73 years old.

Deuard married Stella Ruth Plowman on April 6, 1954 in Jacksboro, Texas. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of Grace Baptist Church. But most of all he was a loving father, husband and grandfather to his family and a respected hard working man.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Doy Sr., Denzy, and Delvin Leatherwood; sisters Eva and Nell and grandson Dirk Leatherwood.

Among those left behind to cherish his sweet memory include his wife Stella Leatherwood of Bryson; sons Paul Leatherwood and wife Margaret of Bryson, Ricky Leatherwood and wife Kathy of Brownfield, Steve Leatherwood and wife Lynda of Olney, Texas, Sammy Leatherwood and wife Pam of Dike, Texas; daughter Suzy Martin of Bryson; brother Sonny Leatherwood, sisters Sarah Turner and Linda Clower, 11 grandchildren Tina, Samantha, Josh and wife Nikki, Lucas, Brandon and wife Shelby, Britney and husband Tyson, Libby and husband Mitchell, Tiffany, Courtney, Zachary and Emily, 5 great-grandchildren (his honorary houndpups) Coltyn, Kadyn, Kevin, Gavyn and Grayson and many other extended family members and friends.

If so desired memorials may be made to the Grace Baptist Church.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday December 15, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro.

Services will be Thursday December 16, 2010 at 2 pm at the Jacksboro First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Cottonwood Cemetery in Bryson.

Deuard Leatherwood, 73, of Bryson died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, in Graham. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at First Baptist Church of Jacksboro with Bro. Dwayne Lamberson officiating. Burial will follow at Cottonwood Cemetery in Bryson. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Coker Funeral Home.
