JACKSBORO — Eva Gene Tabor, 68, of Jacksboro died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, in Jacksboro.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Church of Christ, Jacksboro, with Joel Scott officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home of Jacksboro.

Ms. Tabor was a correctional officer and part-time seamstress.

Survivors include son, Waco Tabor of Stillwater, Okla.; daughter, Tanya Hayes of Baytown, Texas; two sisters, Sarah Turner of Mineral Wells, Linda Clower of Jacksboro; two brothers H.D. "Sonny" Leatherwood of Springtown, and Deuard Leatherwood of Jacksboro; and seven grandchildren.

Eva Gene Tabor was born on May 22, 1942 in Jacksboro, Texas. She passed away on Sunday November 7, 2010 in Jacksboro, Texas. She was 68 years old.

Eva was a member of the Church of Christ in Jacksboro and a retired prison correctional officer. She was also a seamstress who loved to sew aprons and was very creative in all her sewing endeavors.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Woody Tabor; her sister Nell Harris and her brothers Denzy, Doy and Delvin Leatherwood.

Among those left behind to cherish her sweet memory include her son Waco Tabor and wife Theresa of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her daughter Tanya Hayes and husband James of Baytown, Texas; her sisters Sarah Turner of Mineral Wells and Linda Clower of Jacksboro; her brothers H. D. "Sonny" Leatherwood of Springtown, Texas and Deuard Leatherwood of Jacksboro; her 7 grandchildren Woodrow, Chelsea, Carridan, and Quincy Tabor and Tara, Dalton and Jessi Hayes and many other extended family members and friends.

Services will be Tuesday November 9, 2010 at the Church of Christ in Jacksboro, Texas. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Jack County.
