Funeral services for G. W. Dodd, 58, of Athens, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Carroll-Lehr Memory Chapel with the Reverends Joe R. Smith and Bobby Conners
officiating.
Internment will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Mr. Dodd died at 6:30 p.m. in a local hospital after a short illness.
He was born March 10, 1916 in Van Zandt County and had lived most of his life in the Athens area. A retired farmer he was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was married to Miss Dovie Elledge on April 21, 1935.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Dodd and Gene Dodd, both of Athens; two daughters, Mrs. James Adair of Bethel and Mrs. Terry Miller of Brownsbro; two sisters, Mrs. May Hassell of Dallas, and Mrs. Ozie Benton of Ft. Worth; two brothers, Alton Dodd of Athens, and R. C. Dodd of Wylie; and 13 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be O. B. Wyatt, Bill Scott, Don Dodd, Bruce Fussell, Jay Fussell, Royce Hassell, Bobby Ray Hart, and Jimmy Davis.
