Ervin Hau, 83, of Mount Calvary, died early Sunday morning Nov. 11, 2001, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He was born June 28, 1918, on the family homestead in the Town of Greenbush, a son of the late August and Julia (Steffes) Hau.

He attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School and farmed on the homestead with his brother, Greg, until he was married to Laura Abler on May 6, 1950, at Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary. The couple observed their 50th anniversary on May 6, 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Laura of Mount Calvary; one daughter, Elaine Fisher of Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Marcie, Ben and Amanda; three sisters, Wilma Smedberg, Margaret (Edmund) Anders, all of Fond du Lac, and Rose Sippel of Mount Calvary; one brother, Roger (Ann) Hau of Sun Prairie; three sisters-in-law, Dolores Hau of St. Cloud, Joan Hau of North Fond du Lac and Marge Hau of Armstrong; many nieces and nephews.

Ervin was preceded in death by a son, Larry Joseph; three sisters, Gertrude Wimberger, Aurelia Olig Jones and Josie Phalen; and four brothers, Greg, Albert, Richard and Joseph.
