Rose B. Sippel, age 88, of rural Mount Calvary, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

The former Rose Hau was born September 14, 1925, on the Hau family homestead in the Town of Greenbush in Sheboygan County; a daughter of the late August & Julia (Steffes) Hau.

Rose attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School and graduated from Glebeulah High School.

On October 22, 1949, she married Francis R. Sippel at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Francis preceded her in death on March 15, 2000.

The couple founded Banner Feed Mill in 1952 which they operated until retiring in 1990 when they sold the mill to their sons.

She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary and the church choir. Rose was also a member of the St. Cloud American Legion Auxiliary and belonged to various card clubs.

Survivors include her five children, Ann (Leon) Sippel of rural St. Cloud, Kay (Tom) Wehner of Malone, Lynn Sippel of Mount Calvary, Ned (Mary) Sippel of Fond du Lac, and Gregg (Elise) Sippel of Lee's Summit, MO; 14 grandchildren, Nicki (Rick) Wagner, Noel (April) Sippel, Josh (Pam) Sippel, Abby Sippel, Tyler (Shannon) Wehner, Tad (Kim) Wehner, Emily (Kirby) Rogers, Jason Kollmorgan, Sara (Mike) Streblow, Jordan Kollmorgan, Kristi (Jeremiah) Guy, Erin (Brad) Peck, Megan (Travis) Dahm, and Elisebeth (Ryan) Crowel; 11 great-grandchildren with two more expected this year; her sister, Wilma Smedberg of Fond du Lac; her brother, Roger (Ann) Hau of Sun Prairie; her sisters-in-law, Marge Hau, Dolores Hau, Joan Hau, and Antonia Sippel; her brother-in-law, Victor Sippel and his special friend, Ellie. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, August & Julia Hau; her husband, Francis Sippel; a grandson, Christopher Sippel; her brothers, Albert (Marge) Hau, Gregor Hau, Richard Hau, Ervin (Laura) Hau, and Joseph Hau; her sisters, Gertrude (Claude) Wimberger, Aurelia Olig Jones and her first husband, Bruno "Ted" Olig and her second husband, Gordon Jones, Margaret (Ed) Anders, and Josie (Miles) Phalen; her in-laws, Carl "Swede" Smedberg, Emma (Alfred) Diedrich, Marie (Frank) Abler, Agnes (Ben) Bittner, Jule (Marge) Sippel, Bernard (Dorothy) Sippel, Leander (Hortense) Sippel, Carl (Marian) Sippel, Leo Sippel, Joe (Clara Mae) Sippel, and Mae Sippel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church 308 County Road W Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap. will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street St. Cloud, WI 53079 on Wednesday, May 28th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at the church in Mount Calvary on Thursday, May 29th from 11:30 AM until the time of services.

A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:45 PM.
