John Hoefner, a prominent farmer of this vicinity, died Wednesday at the Veterans' hospital in Walla Walla. Born at Dansville, Ohio, in 1897, he came to this county with his parents while a young man. In 1917, he was called by his country, serving overseas for ten months. His marriage to KATHERINE KAGELE occured in 1920 and to this union were born three children. He is survived by his wife, Katherine and three daughtes and brothers and sisters and a host of friends. Services were held Friday afternoon from the Zion Congregational church in Ritzville with Rev. Seethoff officiating. Burial was in the Ritzville cemetery, with the American Legion in charge.
