CASHMERE _ Henry Hoefner, 85, of Cashmere, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 1995, in the Cashmere Convalescent Center.

He was born Nov. 28, 1909, to Henry and Louise (Ottmar) Hoefner at Ritzville. He grew up and received his early education at Ruff, Wash. Following his schooling, he operated a wheat farm in the Ruff area.

He married Pauline Weis on Dec. 9, 1929, at Cheney. In the early 1930s, they moved to Cashmere, where Mr. Hoefner worked as foreman of an orchard.

They bought a ranch on the Wenatchee River in 1942, and Mr. Hoefner owned and operated an orchard until retiring in 1971.

He was a member of the Cashmere Masonic Lodge F&AM. He was a former member of the German Congregational Church in Dryden and was a member of Cashmere United Methodist Church at the time of his death.

Survivors include two sons, Lyle E. of Monitor and Wayne S. of Cashmere; a daughter, Marcedis ``Marty'' Lantz of Richland; a sister, Bertha Schmidt of Wenatchee; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993, four brothers and a sister.
