NOTE: There was a newspaper story in the Wayne County newspaper regarding the death within in a few hours of Pharaba Adkins, widow of Jonathan Bertram and her brother-in-law, Jacob Bertram. The account incorrectly said that Pharaba and Jacob were married. There was a later retraction. The original article has caused quite a bit of confusion and probably will for some time to come. The fact is that Pharaba only married once and Jacob only married once. Both outlived their respective spouses.
