Elijah Butram married Camellia Miller 30 Sep 1833 in Wayne Co., Kentucky. From the book PLEASANT HILL BAPTIST CHURCH; SUNNYBROOK, WAYNE COUNTY, KENTUCKY, Page 10; 3rd Saturday in November 1847 . . . Dismissed by letter Elijah BERTRAM* and wife. . . R.K. Dick Moderator Joel Bertram Clerk." This was about the time Elijah and Camealy (also known as Emily) moved from Wayne Co., Kentucky to Overton Co., Tennessee. They appeared on the 1850 Overton Co., Tennessee Census with six children.

1850 Overton Co. TN Census: 095-095; BUTRAM, Elijah 38, KY, farmer; Camaly 34, KY; Manerva 16, KY; William 11, KY; George 9, KY; Maryann 7, KY; James 4, KY; Tamzy 2, TN

Elijah and Camealy both died in 1859 in Overton Co., Tennessee, leaving several young children to live with various relatives. Their oldest daughter, Minerva Jane Bertram Wright, took in little Nancy Genira. Tamsey and Mary Ann lived with various relatives. Louisa lived with her Uncle Jacob Bertram, then with his son, Reuben Smith Bertram.

*The church records may show the new spelling, Bertram, but Elijah did not change the spelling of his surname. He still was using Butram in 1850, the last census before his untimely death.
