According to descendant, Georgia (BERTRAM) YORK, Jonathan was sometimes over-bearing with his wife, Pharaba. Reportedly Pharaba told him he was indeed the head of the household but she was the neck, and the neck could turn the head any way it wanted!
Mrs. Robbins' book, KENTUCKY KIN, says: "Jonathan's will, 12 Sept. 1894, left his land on headwaters of Carpenters Fork of Otter Creek in Sunnybrook to son Elzy. Left wife Pharaby and gandau. Nancy Bell Catron a white colt one yr. past, and $5.00 ea. to Rebecca Guinn, Alvin Bertram, Jane Brown's heirs, Catherine Asbury, Nancy Rigney, and Esther Long."
