Mary Tuggle Lay Rogers Cook, age 88, born April 1, 1921, passed away on August 16, 2009 at Mercy Medical in Daphne. She was a native of Homer, LA. and a resident of Daphne, AL. Mary was preceded in death by her husband: Loran C. Cook of Minden, LA,; her parents, Rube and Alice Cosper Tuggle; and her six brothers. She is survived by her sons; James I. (Annette) Lay, Jr., of Daphne, AL, Charles E. (Irena) Rogers of Paulina, LA; daughter Diana Lay (Ezra) Carter of Brighton, Michigan; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sisters: Della T. Kramer of Mobile, AL., Mable T. Wren of Minden, LA.; numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. She was a longtime resident of Minden, LA, where she worked and retired as a nurse prior to moving to Catherine Place Assisted Living in Daphne. Funeral services will be held from Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne, AL. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, AL. Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Thomas McGee of Mobile, AL. and the staff of Catherine Place Assisted Living, Daphne, AL.
