DS Worsham, respected resident of the city, died Wednesday, at the age of 63. Funeral services were held in the Beaumont Methodist Church on Thursday and interment followed in Liberty Cemetery. Mr Worsham is survived by his wife, Mrs Lucy Worsham, two daughters, Mrs Docia Brown and Mrs Laura Holt, of Spartanburg; two sons, David Worsham and Willie Worsham, of Fletcher, NC; his mother, Mrs Sarah Worsham, of Bamberg; two sisters, Mrs Mary Finlay and Miss Eva Worsham, of Bamberg; and five brothers, Meck Worsham, of Laurens; Jeff Worsham, Marion Worsham, Reuben Worsham, and Thomas Worsham.

Notes about this obituary: It tells me that whoever supplied the information about him didnt know much about his brothers and sisters. Mrs Mary Finlay was Mae Fendley (she, Sarah Worsham and Eva were in Bamberg for a year or two before moving on to Charleston). At least 3 living sisters were left out, Martha Ann, Addie and Sarah Jane. "Meck" was Nick, and he may have been living in Laurens at the time, but I've never seen him anywhere but Madison County and Hickory, NC. There was NO Marion Worsham, there was a sister Martha, and a sister Mary Caldona, but no brother Marion. And finally, his name: first name was Daniel. Dont know what "S" stood for, but that's the name in his mother's bible, Daniel S Worsham; his sons insisted he was Daniel Joseph Worsham. (Information supplied by [email protected])

Leathy was born ca. 1860 in Madison Co., North Carolina, the daughter of Terrell Brooks and Francis Lusk. Children: Theodosia "Dosha" Worsham. Robert married second to Laura Rezine "Lura" Brooks on 13 August 1880 in Madison Co., North Carolina. Lurie was born on 15 December 1860 in Madison Co., North Carolina, the daughter of Terrell Brooks and Francis Lusk. Their family was listed in the 1880 and 1900 Spring Creek, Madison Co., North Carolina Census records. Lura died on 02 Oct 1962, and is buried in the Hoopers Creek Cemetery, Hendersonville, Henderson Co., North Carolina. Children: William Joseph, David Larkin R., Laura R., and Belva Worsham. Daniel married lastly to Lucy James. Lucy was born in 1871 in South Carolina, the daughter of James James. Daniel and Lucy were listed in the 1920 Spartanburg, Spartanburg Co., South Carolina Census records. Daniel died on 21 Mar 1923 in Spartanburg Co., South Carolina.
