Clara's family moved from Red River Co, Texas to Hazel Valley, Washington Co, Arkansas in 1869. They lived there until about 1886. Dr. Charles P. Bogan then moved the family to Detroit, Red River Co, Texas and lived there until the passing of his wife Clara M. Bogan in early 1889. Clara married James Joseph Hale in 1888 in Lamar Co., Texas. We believe the location was close to Honey Grove which was a short distance from Detroit. The Bogan family and the Hale couple settled in Delta Co near Pecan Gap and west of Cooper. There they raised several children. Dr. Bogan maintained a farm near Ratan, which was operated by his son, Charles, who eventually became owner.
