States moved with his family to Texas around 1884-86. After his mother died, his father remarried and they lived in Clarksville for six months. Dr. Charles Bogan then took his two remaining sons, Charles Hanes and States to Delta County where they lived for a number of years between Pecan Gap and Cooper. On July 18, 1901, States married Zada B. Lancaster in Delta Co, Texas. They eventually moved to Lubbock, Texas. The census records for 1930 indicate that they were divorced. States' Death Certificate showed that he was divorced when he died in 1937. -- dennis hinkle

States was divorced prior to his death. His WWI Draft Registration Card and the Texas Death Certificate shows him to be born in 1877.
States was married to Zadie Belle Lancaster on 18 July 1901 in Delta Co, Texas. Sometime prior to 1930 they were either separated or divorced. They were parents to four children; Gladys Irene; Flora Christine; Bernard Robert and Forrest Beacham Bogan.
