Dr. Charles P. Bogan was an assistant surgeon during the Civil War. He served in the Confederacy in Arkansas, having enlisted at Hamburg, Arkansas in 1862-63. Dr. Bogan was living with a daughter, Mrs. Emma Bogan Curlee, when he died at Rosalie. Emma apparently buried her father in the Dean Cemetery, since this is her resting place. She was the informat on his Death Certificate and took the body for burial; the place was not stated by the attending physician. Emma's obituary stated that she was buried in Dean Cemetery. It would seem reasonable that she would be laid to rest with her parents and two elder sisters. This would be one of five graves, in a roll, that are not legible, according to another reader of this cemetery. - dennis hinkle
