Charles Henry Anderson was the son of William P. Anderson(1854-1906) and Aquilla (Harding) Anderson(1867-1901).

Charles was born July 8, 1889 in Shelby County, Indiana. The stone reads 1884, but it should read 1889. This stone was set there c1973.

Charles married Florence Gorbett in Jackson County, Indiana on November 29, 1914. To this union were born eleven children;

"Charles H. Anderson Expires at Home Here

Charles H. Anderson, 69 [64], a life-long resident of Jackson county [five counties], died early Thursday night at the home, 414 East Second street. He had been ill for the past nine months.
Mr. Anderson was born July 8, 1884 [1889], in Jackson [Shelby] county, the son of the late William and Quilla [Aquilla] Anderson. He spent his entire life in this county [Shelby, Henry, Rush, Bartholomew, Jackson] and was married November 27 [29], 1914 to Florence Gorbett, who survives. A laborer, he was known to a large circle of friends and acquaintances who mourn his death.
Besides the widow, he is survived by eight children: Mrs. Emma D. Hecker, of Baltimore; Mrs. Mary Tabor, of Seymour; Gene S. Anderson, Newtown, O.; William E. Anderson, Mrs. Dorothy C. Ruddick, Walter O. Anderson, Mrs. Ilene Hale and Miss Imogene Anderson, all of Seymour; and four adopted children: Willis Bruce Anderson [Gorbett], Morris Lee Anderson [Gorbett], Wanda Anderson [Gorbett] and Darkas Ann Anderson [Gorbett], all at home. Thirteen grandchildren, including one serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, also survive.
Two daughters, one son, one brother [?], two sisters and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o'clock Monday morning from the Voss Mortuary with Elder Dewey Allman in charge. Burial in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Paul Ruddick residence, 217 East Second street from noon Saturday until 8 o'clock Monday morning and after that time at the Voss Mortuary."
