Albert R. "Al" Ebersold, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, at the age of 92.

He was born on March 28, 1916, in Saco, Montana, a son of the late Rudolph T. and Barbara (Thoeny) Ebersold.

Albert attended Nelson schools, graduating with the class of 1934. He furthered his education at North Dakota State of Science in Wahpeton, N.D.

On November 26, 1941, Albert was united in marriage to Clarice Hopf in Alma at the United Church of Christ. Clarice preceded Albert in death in 1998.

Albert was a linotype operator at the Dayton Court Reporter newspaper in Dayton, Ohio, for 35 years. His career as a linotype printer spanned 42 years, retiring at the age of 62.

In Albert's younger years, he lived in eight different States where he was avidly involved in playing baseball and basketball. Following his retirement, Albert and his wife moved to Buffalo County. Albert found great relaxation in furniture refinishing, chair caning and working on geneology of his family. He will be remembered for his love of the Miami Hurricanes athletic teams, watching sports of all sorts, especially baseball and basketball. Albert has a humble and generous personality who would help others before himself.

Albert will be sadly missed by his daughter, Suzanne Ebersold of Nelson; two nieces, Ruth (Loren) Johnson of Rochester and Barbara (Sonny) Sprain of La Crosse; nephew, James Ebersold of Minneapolis; sister in law, Dorothy (Given) Klein of Sparta; also by several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents and wife Clarice, seven brothers and sisters preceded Albert in death.

Private family services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum in La Crosse at a later date.
