Funeral services for Mrs. J.C. Abbe, 85, former resident of Edom, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Edom Methodist Church. Mrs. Abbe died Monday in the Confederate Home at Austin.
The Rev. Joe B. Stuart of Brownsboro and the Rev. Mabe Barber of the Edom Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in the Edom Cemetery.
Survivors include: three sons, M.C. Shinn of Livingston, E.V. Shinn of California and W.H. Abbe of Goose Creek; a daughter, Mrs. S.A. Milford, Lake Charles, Louisiana; and a sister, Mrs. W.L. Scirratt of Edom.
