Funeral services for Mrs. W.B. Pollard, former resident of Athens, who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mae Crow, in Tyler, were held at the Edom Methodist Church Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock.

Burial was in the Edom Cemetery.

Surviving are two sons, Tom Pollard, Tyler attorney, and Allen Pollard of Chandler; two daughters, Mrs. Crow and Mrs. Wilmoth Chamness of Tyler; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Abney, Livingston, and Mrs. W.L. Scirrah of Canton; and eighteen grandchildren, four of whom are in the service. In the service are Technical Sergeant Otis L. Crow, in Ireland; Private Edwin Adams, Iceland; Aviation Cadet Gene Pickett, Tulsa Ok.; and Sergeant Odell Crow, Los Angeles, Ca. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Pollard was born in Chocata county Alabama on February 27, 1868, the daughter of Hugh and Mary Cole Barber. She was married to W.B. Pollard April 1, 1888. He preceded her in death February 16, 1935. Of the seven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Pollard, two boys died in infancy and a girl, Ruthie Pollard, died at the age of eleven. She was a member of the Methodist Church for seventy years and a member of the Marvin Methodist Church of Tyler.

Mr. and Mrs. Pollard lived in Athens for a number of years, moving to Tyler about ten years ago. Mr. Pollard was Road Supervisor with the Texas Highway Dept. while in Athens.

Mrs. Pollard was a sister of the late N.T. Barber of Athens, and an aunt of Mrs. Lillian B. Hall, Claude Scirratt and A.W. Sides of Athens. Mr. Sides, Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Barber and Mr. Scirratt attended the services.
